FAQ

How do I download Analytics App?

You can download Analytics App from iTunes by following this link:

Download Analytics App from iTunes

or you can search for “Analytics App” from the AppStore icon on your device or from the iTunes Store.

Can I change the date range for my reports?

Absolutely! From the reports list or any report you can update the date range by clicking on “Date” at the top right of the app.

Will it work with multiple accounts?

Yes! Whether you just have one accounts or multiple, Analytics App pulls it all in and lets you access data for all your sites. If you add a site or account to your login, go to Settings then tap “Refresh data” to refresh the list of accounts and sites.

If you have multiple logins, you’ll notice that Anaytics App only saves one login. This is because Google Analytics will let you consolidate all your accounts and sites into one login. To do this, choose which login will be your main login, or create a new Google account. Then login to Google Analytics with your other logins, for each account go to “Manage Users”, and give access to the main login email for the sites you want to check on with Analytics App. Then open up Analytics App and use the main login.

Is my Google Analytics login and data secure?

Yes, the Analytics App only communicates directly with Google Analytics using secure protocols, and your login data is only stored on your device. Your reports are also only transferred between Google Analytics and your device, and are only stored on your device for your current session. For more information, see our Privacy Policy. A third party reviewer independently verified that the app only talks directly to Google Analytics using a secure connection.

Will Analytics App work with my device?

Analytics App works with all iPhone versions and iPod Touch versions running OS 2.2 or higher. An Internet connection is required to access data, so if you are using an iPod Touch you will need to be connected to Wi-Fi. Analytics App works best with a 3G or Wi-Fi connection, but it will work with Edge (just be a little slower). The speed of the app in loading reports and charts depends on your Internet connection (just like on your computer).

Are all Google Analytics Reports available?

There are more than 40 reports available currently in Analytics App, leaving only a handful of reports that have unique data structures that don’t quite fit the model of data for the app at this time. Any custom report can be created within Google Analytics to give you access to all of your data, any way you want to slice it.

What is the Today report?

The “Today” report is just like the Dashboard Report, but it always defaults to Today so you can see the most recent data that Google Analytics can show without changing the date range.

What if a report doesn’t show anything?

This simply means there is no data for the report. For example, if you don’t run AdWords campaigns, you won’t see data in the Adwords campaign report. If you don’t use Event Tracking (advanced feature of Analytics) you won’t see anything for these reports either.

What is Event Tracking?

Event Tracking is a new feature of Google Analytics that lets you track actions or events instead of just a view of a page. If you use Flash, AJAX (dynamic javascript), or just want to track downloads or link clicks, event tracking is designed for these uses.

Why is there a “Refresh Data” button in Settings?

All this button does is checks for new sites, accounts, and custom reports from Google Analytics. Your reports are always serving fresh data from your date ranges.

My chart lines disappeared, what happened?

This most likely is because you changed the Graph Resolution from Day to Week or Month. Go to the list of reports or a report itself, and tap the Date button at the top right. For the Graph Resolution, change it back to “Day”. This feature may be confusing, but all it does is smooth out the data if you are looking at a longer time period. If you are looking at a year or a couple of years, you may want to use the Week or Month. Just change it back to Day when you are done.
